• The Global Society

We are The Global Society and its office. Our task is to identify, inform about, and introduce The Global Society.          The Global Society is the form of society that follows the nation-state, or the current system of about 200 states. The Global Society is one, and only one, and spans the entire Earth. It includes all people. It is a result of globalization.

Human society develops in parallel (though with some delay) with humanity itself. It is a continuous process. However, we have chosen to focus on three typical societal forms:

Time Society Livelihood Character
3000.000 - 3.000 Hunter-Gathering group Hunting-gathering Humane
3.000 - 2.000 State society/nation Agriculture War like
2000 -> The global society Machines / Technology Collaborative

For virtually all of human existence (as Homo sapiens), we were hunter-gatherers. We took directly from nature. This hardly forms a society in the traditional sense—it is a group that forages along the way. The group must remain small, as food availability determines its size. It is open; anyone can leave and forage on their own. This prevents aggression—the group remains humane. For hunters, especially those hunting big game, it’s somewhat different. The group must be larger and more organized. Some hunt; others support. Discipline is essential, as the hunt must succeed.

By gathering edible plants and domesticating animals, humans can settle in one place. They can build proper homes, create more tools, and improve their way of life. One could say the hunter-gatherers came to a halt and settled down. The landscape fills with agricultural villages—a potential agricultural society. But that’s not what happens. Instead, something much larger arises. In these villages and barns lies what people desire. Now, the violence-capable rise and take what the farmers have stored. These men of violence establish a state and tax the production. Thus, the State Society is formed, consisting of two classes: rulers and producers. The rulers constantly wage war on their neighbors—seeking more land and defending their domain.

To escape heavy manual labor, humans developed more tools and machines. These became increasingly large, powerful, and centralized in facilities. They could mass-produce and, as demand grew, became increasingly automated. They could supply the global population with goods at almost no cost. Machines also became engines—powering vehicles over seas, land, and air. Through global communication, the entire world became connected—and could share everything. Everyone could eat bananas, wear cotton, or fuel vehicles. This offer was irresistible and led humanity toward a global economy and its corresponding society.

In The Global Society, people are no longer tied to land. They can live wherever they like—typically in large urban areas and preferably in pleasant climates.

Human society evolves in an ever-accelerating process. There is no ideal society, only societies that offer the best chance for life and survival. Change happens through inventions and innovations. Each innovation transforms the economy, which in turn shapes society.

Through technology, humanity has broken free from ecology and expanded limitlessly—consuming more and more of Earth’s resources in an unsustainable way. Humanity has become its own enemy.

The Global Society has arrived and is already among us. But the state is still seen as the society—and nothing else. The state is considered absolute and unquestionable. Work continues to improve it, ignoring globalization. This leads to constant issues with migration, drug trafficking, weapons, and other cross-border problems. States also cannot control or tax the wealthy, who move their capital and companies as they please. These problems persist because the state itself is the problem—it is no longer the right organization.

The Global Society is peaceful. Machines have called us to cooperate. A global peace was on the horizon. But Russia’s attack on Ukraine has turned back the clock 50 years. Putin wants fear and respect, as in the Cold War era. The Kremlin is out of touch—it knows nothing of globalization or its potential. It sees today’s world as one of opposing poles.

Behind the façade that states present, the Global Society is forming, piece by piece. Physically, the shift is slow—cultural change takes generations. But when the façade falls—and it can fall at any moment—the Global Society will emerge. The transformation will be sudden. Once The Global Society is perceived and acknowledged, the world will never be the same again. The tone will soften, and there will be light, hope, and a belief in the future.

Our ideas have been shaped over many years by a well-educated man in his eighties, living in Gothenburg, Sweden. He will, of course, be named shortly. Everything is managed by a foundation, that is registered by Swedish authorities.

We are highly dependent on gifts and donations, especially in the beginning. Thank you so much.
